street style inspirations: funky fresh floral details women's edition

Alexa Chung always has a quirky yet tasteful interpretation of daily street style and fashion. The shot of Alexa was  at the Launch of the Annual British Designers Collective at Bicester Village on March 21, 2012 hosted by none-other than Alexa Chung. For those who aren't drawn to girly floral print summer dress and other frilly details, this outfit is a cool way to incorporate a funky fresh floral print without taking away an over-all tomboyish, tough attitude. Here Alexa pairs a colorful Celine floral print A-line skirt from the 2012 summer collection with a charming black Bella Freud "Je t'aime Jane" sweater (a cheeky homage to style icon Jane Birkin), patent leather Nicholas Kirkwood loafers, and bad-ass quilted leather Balenciaga motorcycle jacket. Yet another great idea for a cool, casual, and chic outfit that's easy to put together.

Taylor Tomasi Hill, the style and accessories director of US Marie Claire Magazine and all-around expert fashionista, is shown here rocking her usual work attire consisting of eclectic prints and fabrics that create a distinctive and an intelligible style. Taylor is fearless when it comes to color and texture- she's got great way of creating a fresh look by combining everything and anything to create something that is both put-together and interesting to the eye. For a stylish winter/fall outfit for the office, Taylor Tomasi Hill combines a light blue shirt with a pretty pink and darker blue floral print with a heavy duty wool of a darker blue plaid print and a cozy white shearing lining, moss green tweed slim trousers with a bold flair at the hems, a royal blue suede tote, and her bold red hair and lips.

Hanne Gaby Odiele, a fashion model, is quickly becoming a photographer's favorite for capturing unique street style. Hanne has an interesting innate ability of combining bold colors, prints, and shapes to create something striking, new, and totally wearable. An interesting fact about Hanne- in December 2006, she was hit by a car that cut a red light, leaving both her legs broken. After multiple surgeries and months of intense physical therapy, she got back to work in 2008 rocking the runways of Chanel, Givenchy, and Prada, among others. Combine a skirt with a floral embroidery with a black lace shirt that's slightly opaque, a black leather collar detail, a solid black wool coat, flat black leather ankle boots with metal buckle details, and a monogram print shoulder bag (in this case Fendi) to create an outfit that sorta tomboyish, kinda girly, and plenty of edgy.

This is great way of how to wear short to work- there's a fine line between looking polished and work-appropriate and looking overexposed and unprofessional. These shorts have a tailored effect with a subtle white floral print on a predominantly black material.  Although they are on the shorter side, they take on a sleek and professional outfit when paired with  a longer white blazer, solid gold accessories, and simple nails- this outfit is solid business outfit during warmer summer days when slacks and light blouses have become boring and repetitive.

Paris fashion week street style is the epitome of what's elegant and refined, fashionable and unique, and updated and timeless for the busy woman and man on the go with intentions of creating a lasting effect with their selection of clothing. Here is a candid shot of Lotta Aspenberg, the Fashion Director of Zoo magazine, in between fashion shows. Here she is rocking an amazing pair floral print cropped slim trousers of purple, red, and lavender hues. Combined with matching lavender blouse, cherry red pumps, and contrasting navy sweater and army green trench coat, this outfit is perfect for the stylish business woman of 2012.

Layering multiple floral prints can be overwhelming- however, these slim floral pants and contrasting floral print dress shirt are toned down with a creme cashmere pullover and simple beige pumps. Subtly styled hair and accessories bring this outfit together to create something that's appropriate for the office and wearable for the those a little intimated by prints and colors.

This is a shot of Lea Seydoux for the ASOS lookbook of April 2012. Checkout the rest of the lookbook for great ideas for combining floral prints, lace pieces, and other eclectic pieces to create that fresh Parisian girl look. That Parisian chic style is such a lovely combination of French fashion and European aesthetics- it's something refined, fun, and fresh.

Olivia Palermo seen on the streets of New York in between various business meetings and runways shows in yet another fashionable and fresh outfit. This street style features funky floral print skinny trousers paired with leopard print pumps, sleek black blazer with a hem of black feathers, mellow yellow t-shirt, and a large brown leather tote.

Instead of rocking floral print as a clothing article, floral print also looks great as fashion accessory like a shopping tote. This floral print tote is from Celine's Resort 2012 collection, caught in action during Paris Fashion Week for autumn/winter 2012.

This is yet another cute outfit idea for transitioning from winter to spring attire. These floral print trousers have bold  red flowers a predominately black hued material which subdued by other black-toned clothing pieces. Paired with a cute white collared blouse under a black sweater, a cute double breasted black wool coat with gold buttons, black ankle boots, and soft hair makes a stylish and timeless outfit.

This combination of the light silk teal blouse with a print of delicate yellow flowers on branches compliments the mustard yellow skirt, camel beige coat, and tan brown crossbody bag. This outfit is great way of combining a bright floral print silk/satin shirt with another bright hued clothing article with other more subtle basic pieces for a cool and stylish outfit that's great for transitioning from fall to winter or winter to spring.

Alexa Chung once again rocks an outfit that's seemingly modest but actually consists of individual pieces with distinct details- the long beige wool coat is made of a bristly furry material, the floral skirt consists of  baby blue hues and tones and in an interesting flap cut, and her Celine shoes are of funky platform wedge with silver mirror detail. The other basic pieces of a black leather clutch and black (nor navy blue?) pullover sweater brings this outfit together into something that unqiue and comfortable for the office, or rather running in between various fashion shows.

This women's street style has the perfect touch of  masculine undertone in the full-on floral print suit set. It sort of would look like pajamas on its own,  but when paired with classic black pumps, a slouchy v-neck cashmere knit sweater, and simple accessories and cute chignon bun at the crown, this outfit is undeniably fashionable and work- appropriate.
